CCM launches candidate for Nevis #5, ahead of imminent local elections
Ms. Latoya Jones was launched as the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM’s) Candidate for Nevis #5 (St. Thomas’ Parish), on Saturday night Nov. 12th, in Barnes Ghaut, Nevis. She was endorsed by several persons including CCM’s leader, Premier Mark Brantley.
In her speech, Ms. Jones pledged to be a “servant for the people” that will bring “much needed change” to the people of St. Thomas’.
Her opponent for the next elections, due by March 2023 the latest, will be the incumbent, Nevis Reformation Party’s (NRP) the Hon. Cleone Stapleton-Simmonds.
Though many were expecting the Premier to call the elections during Saturday’s event, Mr. Brantley expressed his party’s confidence in winning the election. As it stands in the interim, there is no official date for the next Nevis Island Assembly Elections
