Charlestown Primary and Gingerland Secondary: Winners of the 2025 STEM Challenge

On Thursday May 22nd, the Nevis Island Administration facilitated its third annual STEM Challenge, under the theme: “STEM: Collaborate, Evaluate, Create, Solve.” STEM is an acronym which represents Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

 

The day featured teams of primary and secondary students showcasing the skills of innovation, teamwork and critical thinking.

 

Announcer, Shenelle Pemberton gives more details:

 

For the eight (8) participating primary schools, the Charlestown Primary School, who amassed 61 points, is the 2025 winner of the STEM Challenge.

 

After a 60 point tie, the Violet O. Jeffers Nicholls Primary School secured second place while the Maude Cross Preparatory School, with 31 points, earned the third position.

 

Furthermore, a 61 point total determined first place for the Gingerland Secondary School, while second place went to the Charlestown Secondary School with 59 points. The third place title went to the Nevis International Secondary School who earned 57 points.
