Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) celebrates 75th anniversary
The Charlestown Secondary School (CSS) is currently celebrating its 75th anniversary of operation.
The school opened its doors on May 24th, 1950 and has since been serving the Nevisian public as the longest standing secondary education institution on the island.
To mark the milestone, staff, students and supporters have been engaged in several celebratory activities which will continue throughout the year.
With this week bearing the historic day of its conception, the school will hold activities including its 21st Anniversary Thanksgiving Ceremony at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC) on Wednesday May 21st at 9am and a Community Breakfast Sale and Shout-out on Saturday, May 24th at the Taxi Stand next to the Newcastle Bus Stop in Charlestown beginning at 6am.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence – Honouring the Past, Inspiring the Future”.
