During the latest edition of “In Focus”, Chief of Surgery, Dr. Joylette Woodley-Fassale and Consultant General Surgeon, Dr. Mark Grant highlighted the impacts of 2 Colonoscopes and 2 Gastroscopes and the upcoming Annual Scientific Conference by the Caribbean Society of Endoscopic Surgeons from November 14th to 16th, 2024.
The donation of the instruments was made by the St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board and will allow for the early detection of potentially cancerous growths, allow quicker and better-quality patient care and recovery and has reduced the hospital’s need to rely on privately owned equipment to provide patient care.
Additionally, Dr. Grant shared that the conference is not only to build a platform for Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, and keyhole surgeries in the federation but the development of human resources attracting medical personnel to employ their skills and services here in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The conference will feature various activities such as presentations, a cocktail, a gala and live surgery cases. Dr. Woodley-Fassale shared this about the live surgeries that would take place.
