The 41st edition of Child Month has been officially launched in St. Kitts and Nevis, on June 1st, 2026, under the theme: “Fueling Our Bodies with the Best: Good Nutrition, Movement and Rest.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Education, the Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, in an address to the nation discussed the importance of cultivating healthy lifestyles and routines to children’s growth, learning and overall well-being.
The minister encouraged parents and other caregivers to provide wholesome, balanced meals that are essential for nourishing children’s bodies and minds, helping them stay energized, healthy and able to reach their full potential. He further stressed the benefits of other healthy habits:
For St. Kitts, throughout June, the observance will feature a range of activities designed to promote healthy living, including church services, sports days, a Family Fitness Fest, Family Food Festival, nursery concert, staff appreciation activities and educational social media segments.
Meantime – On Nevis, Child Month 2026 opened with a church service at the Gingerland Seventh-day Adventist church. Performances, educational messages, and the launch of activities will be displayed throughout the month of June.
