As St Kitts and Nevis joins the rest of the world in the celebration of United Nations Day on October 24th 2019, Senior Foreign Affairs Service Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Samuel Berridge, spoke about the various efforts of the United Nation including disaster recovery and relief as a result of climate change on this week’s edition of “Working for You”.
This comes on the heels of Prime Minister Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris’ meeting in Washington with Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Ms. Louise Levonianto, where the Prime Minister highlighted the dangers of using the Gross Domestic Product’s (GDP) as the key indicator in accessing emergency funding assistance after a natural disaster since some Small Island States like the Federation were unable to benefit from this funding due to their high GDPs.
