Commissioner of Corrections placed on vacation leave, following daughter’s charges
In the wake of the recent legal proceedings involving Crown Prosecutor Shantrice Dorset, Commissioner of Corrections – Mr. Franklin Dorset, has been placed on vacation leave, a press release from the Ministry of National Security says.
“This decision was made to uphold fairness and transparency following the recent legal proceedings involving his daughter, Ms. Dorset, who was charged on Thursday Jan. 23rd, and subsequently remanded to His Majesty’s Prison”, the press stated.
Ms. Dorset’s six charges include: Misconduct in Public Office and Corruption committed between July 20th 2024 and October 30th 2024. These are in connection with Mr. Khyron Philip, alias “Tall Up”, who is wanted for murder. She shared information with Phillip, which helped him to flee the Federation by sea.
Initially, the press release mentioned Mr. Dorset being placed on administrative leave. But the Ministry in a press release said “he has not been placed on administrative leave”.
The Ministry of National Security said it “is resolutely dedicated to ensuring transparency, fairness, and the steadfast enforcement toward the Federation’s laws.”
