Consultations to update of the National Physical Development Plan (NPDP)
The Department of Physical Planning in St. Kitts, in collaboration with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), have begun consultations on the National Physical Development Plan (NPDP) that was last revised in 2006.
The NPDP guides all development and management of land and natural resources, zoning and location of developments.
According to Minister of Environment (St. Kitts), Dr. Joyelle Clarke, “the consultations will take an Inter-ministerial approach to include Agriculture, Fisheries, Manufacturing, Energy, Water, Education, Cultural Preservation and Land Management, among others.
They are a part of the wider project titled, “Improving Environmental Management through Sustainable Land Management in St Kitts and Nevis” that is funded by Global Environment Facility (GEF).”
The consultations will continue until February 2nd 2023.
