Council on Drug Abuse Prevention convenes inaugural general meeting
The National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention convened its first General Meeting for 2025 on March 5th. The meeting was chaired by the Council’s Chairman, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Travis Rogers, and attended by stakeholders dedicated to fostering a coordinated and strategic approach to drug abuse prevention.
Executive Secretary – Mrs. Karimu Byron Caines gave members a comprehensive overview of the Council’s establishment, composition, and core functions. She further outlined the Council’s 2025 budget allocations, objectives, and planned activities.
The Council welcomed Chairperson of the St. Kitts and Nevis Medicinal Cannabis Authority, Mrs. Jihan Williams-Knight to provide an insightful presentation on the Authority’s establishment, etc.
The National Council on Drug Abuse Prevention looks forward to continued partnerships and strategic advancements that will contribute to developing sustainable intervention measures in St. Kitts and Nevis.
