The recently concluded Department of Labour World Day for Safety and Health at Work Seminar was held at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park here on Nevis.
Welcome Comments and Prayers were led by Chief Labour Officer, Juliet O’loughlin-Connor. This was followed by brief remarks from Minister of Communications, Labour et al., Hon. Spencer Brand who spoke on the day’s proceedings. He underscored the importance of a comfortable working environment and stated that “the NIA has always and will always continue to support work place safety. It is a constitutional and fundamental right of every single human-being”.
Thereafter, Senior Clerk of the Department of Labour, Kishma Hendrickson provided an overview of the seminar:
