Two Nevisian residents have been fined following convictions at the Charlestown Magistrate’s Court on February 3rd.

Te’Jon Wilkin of Nisbett Settlement pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis and was fined eighteen thousand dollars. He has three months to pay, or faces two months in prison if the fine is not settled.

Javier Charles of Bath Village pleaded guilty to battery and malicious damage. He was fined two thousand dollars for battery, payable within two months, and five thousand dollars for malicious damage, payable within six months.

In default, the sentences carry two months and twelve months in prison, respectively. Both cases were presided over by His Honour, Mr. Renold Benjamin.

Meanwhile, Clijaurn Henry of Rawlins Village and Javauni Edwards of Clay Ghaut, Nevis, have each been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment at His Majesty’s Prison after pleading guilty to three counts of Assault with Intent to Rob.

The sentences were handed down on January 29th, 2026, at the Nevis High Court by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley K.C. The Court ordered that time already spent on remand be deducted from their sentences. Both men will also be eligible for a one-third reduction for good behaviour.
