CoVID-19: Leader of SKN’s Labour Party questions Gov’t’s initiative, in relation to PAP program

Persons whose income have fallen below $3,000.00 per month because of the CoVID-19 pandemic, may qualify for assistance under the government’s Poverty Alleviation Program (PAP).

Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, stated that if persons are not already on PAP, they can “make an application and there will be a determination of their case.”

Individuals wishing to sign-up for the program can send an email to: statistics@gov.kn or visit their website www.stats.gov.kn.

The PAP program seeks to assist households, whose earnings are less than $3,000.00 EC dollars, with a supplement of $500.00 EC dollars.

However, Leader of the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas, has questioned the initiative considering the situation.

Dr. Douglas had a few more questions for the Government.
