CoVID-19 – Relief Fund: 6,195 applications received and processed, over $4.5 million dollars paid out

Director of the Social Security Board, Mr. Antonio Maynard, during Saturday’s edition of  “Inside the News” program, provided some figures with regards to the Social Security Board’s CoVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.

 

 

The Social Security’s CoVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, was created to assist all working persons whose income has been directly affected by the CoVID-19 pandemic.

 

In partnership with the Labour Department, the Social Security has facilitated the payment of up to EC$ 1,000.00 monthly for three months in the first instance (April, May and June). 

 

Beneficiaries of the fund include: Full time and part-time employees who have been laid off, employed but with reduced hours, persons made redundant as a result of the pandemic and registered Self-employed persons, whose income is impacted by the virus.

 

He also spoke about the number of persons paid, as at May 15th 2020.

 

 

Mr. Maynard gave the date for the next disbursement.
