The Federal Government launched its COVID-19 Vaccine program on Monday, February 22nd, at the Newtown Dental Clinic, in St. Kitts.
The first to be vaccinated were: Medical Chief of Staff at the JNF General Hospital, Dr. Cameron Wilkinson, then Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, Cabinet Members: Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Shawn Richards, the Hon. Akilah Byron-Nisbett, the Honourables Lindsay Grant, Jonel Powell and Vincent Byron Jr.
Frontline workers (which included Doctors) also received their COVID-19 jab.
However, other Members of Parliament (MP’s) are slated to receive their injections on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021.
At the launch, Prime Minister Harris stated that it is necessary to take the vaccine:
Prime Minister, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris.
According to Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Hazel Laws, “There is a 10-week interval for persons vaccinated.”
In essence, their next appointment for dose #2 of the vaccine, will be in 10 weeks.
