Crown Prosecutor receives bail

Crown Prosecutor Shantrice Dorset received bail on Feb. 27th, a police spokesperson told the VONNEWSLINE.

Her bail conditions are: she must report to the Basseterre Police Station three (3) times weekly – Monday, Wednesday, & Friday – between the hours of 6AM and 6PM, Ms. Dorset must surrender all travel documents and make no attempt to leave the jurisdiction. There is also a stop order in place at all ports of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Ms. Dorset must reside with her family in Basseterre, she cannot have any contact, whether directly or indirectly with any prosecution witnesses or Khyron Phillip, Bejay Tuckett, Jahzya R. Wilkerson, nor any of their associates and any breach of these conditions will result in the immediate revocation of Ms. Dorset’s bail.

The bail comes following an announcement in January by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr. Adlai Smith, where he told the Federation that Ms. Dorset was charged with Misconduct in Public Office and Corruption among others (6 charges in total), committed between July 20th 2024 and October 30th 2024. These are in connection with Khyron Philip, who was wanted for the 2024 murder of Akeem Archibald. She shared information with Phillip, which helped him to flee the Federation by sea.

However, late last month, DPP Smith in an address, stated that Phillip was detained in St. Maarten.
