The Ministry of Health has issued a release about the Cruise Ship MV Costa Magica, which docked at the Federation’s shores, on Mar. 4th 2020.
According to the release, senior Ministry of Health officials and members of the St. Kitts and Nevis Medical Board were consulted by Cabinet regarding the Cruise Ship MV Costa Magica……
On board were a number of persons who had left a known hotspot well within the 14-day incubation period of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Because the risk to the Federation was considered high, based on their history of travel, as a precautionary measure, a decision was made not to grant permission to disembark. This decision was taken with the consideration of the health of SKN’s citizens and residents.
As of Mar. 4th, about 3,200 people have died globally and more than 90,000 have been infected, the vast majority in China, where the virus emerged late last year.
