CSS Holds Thanksgiving Celebration to Thank God for 75 years as a Secondary Institution

“We do not merely mark the passage of time, we gather to give God thanks for his unfailing love, his abundant grace and his guiding hand upon our school community from 1950 to 2025.”

 

Those were words echoed from Principal, Mrs. Nicola Huggins-Parris, at the Thanksgiving Service of the Charlestown Secondary School, marking its 75th year of existence as an institution providing secondary education.

 

Mrs. Parris strongly expressed:

 

 

The programme featured speeches, praise and worship, musical renditions, poems, and a sermonette.

 

In attendance were dignitaries including, Deputy Governor General, Her Honour, Mrs. Hyleeta Liburd, Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, Minister of Education, Hon. Troy Liburd, as well as other cabinet members and officials of the Nevis Island Administration.

 

Meantime, President of the Nevis Island Assembly, Mrs. Michelle Slack-Clarke presented the school’s historical reflection, recounting from its inception, the faculty, students, academic curriculum, sports, structure, amongst other features to the current day:
