A number of business leaders and regional partners joined government officials on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, for the groundbreaking of Demerara Distillers (St. Kitts and Nevis) Limited’s (DDSKN) US$10 million expansion project.
The development is being hailed as a major investment in St. Kitts and Nevis, reflecting growing investor confidence in the Federation and the potential of regional partnerships.
According to the St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency, the expansion is expected to increase production capacity, create quality employment, boost exports and strengthen the Federation’s position as a regional hub for value-added manufacturing and trade. The modern, visitor-friendly facility is also expected to enhance the tourism product.
DDSKN forms part of Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL), a Guyanese manufacturing company with more than 300 years of distilling heritage. Currently, DDL produces and distributes a broad portfolio of spirits and beverages and operates subsidiaries across the Caribbean, North America and Europe.
In St. Kitts and Nevis, DDSKN produces Belmont Estate, Cane Spirit Ritchmont, Ivanoff Vodka and private-label Brinley Gold Rums, while also distributing El Dorado and Diamond Reserve Rums.
