The Department of Community Development will host its “Steel at Christmas” Concert to be held on Friday, December 13^th 2024 at 5:00 pm at the D.R Walwyn Plaza in Charlestown.

This music filled event will feature performances by Riddimz Steel Orchestra, Positive Vibes Steel Orchestra, Pandora Steel Orchestra and Combermere Symphonic Orchestra, With Host, ITebulous.

The VON Newsline spoke with Acting Director at The Department of Community Development, Denesia Smithen, who shared more about the event:

These events give new band members from the Riddimz Steel Orchestra and Positive Vibes Steel Orchestra the opportunities to get experience in community concerts which allow them to be promoted to the competition bands, those being Nevis Community Development Steel Orchestra and Gifted Youths Steel Orchestra where they would compete in Nevis’ Culturama and St. Kitts’ Carnival Panorama competitions.
