Deputy Premier Evelyn Urges Collaboration for Food Security on World Food Day 2025
Deputy Premier and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Cooperatives in the Nevis Island Administration, the Hon. Eric Evelyn, has called for greater collaboration and partnership in advancing food security on the island.
In his address to mark World Food Day 2025, observed globally on October 16th, Mr. Evelyn underscored the importance of collective effort under this year’s theme “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future.”
He emphasized that achieving food security requires cooperation across sectors and communities, including farmers, fishermen, backyard gardeners, schools and government departments.
Mr. Evelyn also encouraged the public to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices, reduce waste and “grow more of what we eat and eat more of what we grow.”
