Director of the Nevis Disaster Management Department (NDMD), Mr. Brian Dyer has stated that shelters will be inspected, in light of the upcoming Atlantic Hurricane Season.

Tropical Storm Arthur, which is the first named storm for the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season formed last weekend.

Because of the formation of Arthur, 2020 also marked the 6^th consecutive year in a row that storms have formed before the official start of the season, which is June 1^st, 2020.
