The St. Kitts and Nevis Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has announced a Discounted VAT Rate Day to be held on Friday, April 28th, 2023.

The day will allow all approved VAT-registered businesses to charge VAT at the rate of 5% on the sale of goods only. Eligible items must be available for sale and delivered to customers. Vehicles, alcoholic beverages, guns, ammunition and cigarettes will not be eligible.

Businesses which have not registered but are desirous, must ensure that all VAT return filings and/or payments are up-to-date and have no outstanding taxes, licenses, penalties and/or interest due to the Inland Revenue Department and/or the Customs and Excise Department.

They can then access the forms on the department’s website or offices in Basseterre or Charlestown and return the said forms on or before April 25th, 2023.
