DPP announces Charges against Crown Counsel Prosecutor

The Director of Public Prosecutions’ Office (DPPO) announced on Friday Jan. 24th, that six (6) charges have been brought against one of its Crown Counsel Prosecutors, Ms. Shantrice Dorset, aged 29 of Bladen Housing Project, St. Kitts, by the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force. These offences were committed between July 20th 2024, and Oct. 30th 2024. All charges were laid at the Basseterre Police Station on Jan. 23rd 2025. In a statement, DPP Adlai Smith listed the charges:

 

 

The charges are in connection with the murder of 29-year-old Akeem Archibald, who was fatally shot with a high-powered automatic rifle in July 2024, while riding his motorcycle. This was the 18th murder for 2024. Following the incident, the DPP said the prime suspect, Mr. Khyron Philip, alias “Tall Up” fled the Federation by sea. A warrant was issued in 2024 for the arrest of Kyrhon Phillip, 29, for the offence of murder. At present, he remains at large. DPP Smith made this appeal:

Further updates will be provided to the public as this case progresses. Following legal arguments at a bail application made at the Magistrates Court on Friday, the court has denied bail. Ms. Dorset is on remand at His Majesty’s Prison.
