Duty Free concessions will officially commence (today) Wednesday Nov. 15th.

For gift packages of “Foodstuff”, for example, the first 400lbs will be free of duties and taxes.

Instead of the usual US $200 (EC $540), non-commercial imports will also receive a duty-free allowance of US$250 (EC $675) off of the CIF Value and duty-free allowance will be applied to goods landed in the federation between November 15th 2023 to January 31st, 2024. The latter, will be the official end for the concessions.

In addition, Discounted VAT Rate Days (DVRD’s) are slated for Friday, 15th and Saturday, 16th December, 2023.

The days will allow all approved VAT-registered businesses to charge VAT at the rate of 5% on the sale of goods only
