An earthquake occurred on Easter Sunday Apr. 5th, near Basseterre, St. Kitts. Information from the University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre (UWI-SRC), indicates that it took place at 4:12 pm.
The 3.9 quake occurred 124 km NNW of Basseterre, 198 km NW of Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda and 200 km NW of Brades, Montserrat.
It was located at latitude: 18.35 degrees N, longitude: 63.13 degrees W and struck at a depth of 28 km.
The quake comes on the heels of several occurring with similar strengths in March. Four (4) quakes took place near St. Kitts: Mar. 13th, Mar. 19th, Mar. 20th and Mar. 26th.
