The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) is inviting young creatives across its eight member countries including in Saint Kitts and Nevis to take part in its 2026 Creative Youth Competition, this year spotlighting poetry.

Nigel Brown, Acting Senior Corporate Relations Officer at the ECCB, told the VON Newsline that the competition targets full-time secondary and college students aged 12 to 20, “designed to allow…students…to demonstrate their creativity, their critical thinking skills and talents through various genres”

For submission persons must submit their original poem, along with a performance video, entry form and headshot. Submissions must be uploaded via the ECCB’s Creative Youth Competition portal by March 31st, 2026.

Brown encouraged broad participation, urging students to “let your creative juices flow” noting that there is “much to gain from participating”.
