It is a two year programme that will empower young people with the knowledge and tools needed to address today’s environmental challenges while supporting sustainable tourism across the Caribbean by equipping youth and educators with enhanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills to bolster environmental leadership.

The launch event gathered many key officials from across the federation including Federal Minister of Education, the Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education of St. Kitts, Mrs. Lisa-Romayne Pistana, as well as Minister of Education in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), Hon. Troy Liburd, and the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education on Nevis, Ms, Zahnela Claxton.

Other Caribbean Countries such as Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are also benefitting from the same initiative.

Further, the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) and the Government of Taiwan have partnered for more than 12 years to strengthen community safety, resilience, and prosperity across Latin America and the Caribbean. Together, they have supported over 1.3 million people in 10 countries with tools and training to better prepare for and respond to disasters.
