Eighty Six women get Pap Smears done during January Screening
The Community Health Nursing Services in collaboration with the Nevis Health Promotion Unit held its free Pap Smear Screening in recognition of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January.
The screening was held at the Gingerland and Charlestown Health Centres on January 27th, under the theme: “Learn, Prevent, Screen”.
Pap Smears are used to detect pre-cancerous lesions in the cervix which are the first changes in the cells, before cervical cancer develops.
