Empire Sports Club on Nevis community impacts

Members of the Empire Sports Club were guests on Tuesday’s “Let’s Talk” Program. Host of the program, Mr. Evered “Webbo” Herbert introduced Deputy Premier, Hon. Eric Evelyn who serves as the club’s President and Franklin Brown who serves as Treasurer.

 

The Empire Sports Club started in 1979 as Empire Cricket Club.  The club has participated in local cricket matches in division 2, moving into division 1 as the years passed.

The Empire Sports Club organizes many events in the community such as the Hanley’s Road Christmas Tree Lighting, fundraisers, village cleanups, senior citizen outreach and the Boys Together for Change Movement which aims to keep young men in the community from steering down the wrong paths of life.

 

For persons interested in joining The Empire Sports Club, sign-up fee is $100EC and then $70 annually.
