Federal Budget Day is Wednesday Dec. 13th

The 2024 Federal Budget (or National Budget) will be presented during a Sitting of the National Assembly (today) Wednesday Dec. 13th, at 10:00 a.m. at the National Assembly Chambers, Government Headquarters, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

 

 

 

At that Sitting, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. Terrance Drew, will present the 2024 Federal Budget Address, under the theme: “Marching Forward on the Journey to a Sustainable Island State”.

 

 

 

During the Sitting, The Appropriation (2024) Bill, 2023) will received its 1st reading. The Bill is a legislative measure aimed at allocating funds for the services of Saint Christopher and Nevis for the financial year starting from January 1st, 2024 and concluding on December 31st, 2024.

 

 

 

The Appropriation Bill (2023), 2022 was passed in the National Assembly last December of approximately EC$1.02 billion. No indication as to how much the 2024 Bill will amount to, but it is left to be seen.
