Federal Cabinet of Ministers approves restructuring of PAP Program

On Monday October 10th, the Federal Cabinet of Ministers approved the recommendations for the reformation and restructuring of the Poverty Alleviation Programme (PAP) to improve its efficiency for the betterment of the people.

They made their decision after a Presentation on the status of the program that was made during the briefing from Director of Policy Planning & Projects in the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs, Ms. Azilla Clarke.

PAP, alias the Household Assistance Program, seeks to assist households earning less than EC$3,000.00 a month by providing an extra EC$500.00 per month and improve the socio-economic status of citizens and residents in the Federation.

The Cabinet’s approved reformation of the PAP is in keeping with the government’s pledge to improve the management of the programme, to ensure that persons receive the adequate assistance they need.

More information will be forthcoming in the upcoming months.
