Federal Government received US$1.5 million dollars from Taiwanese Government

The government of St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN) has received a donation in the amount of US$1.5million dollars from the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

 

 

 

The cheque was handed over by Resident Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency Michael Lin on Thursday, April 20th to Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew.

 

 

 

The donation will go towards the support of athletes for the Special Olympics, Athlete support for the Carifta Games, the Community Enhancement Fund including overseas health care support and the recent introduction of the Seniors’ Day Programme in St. Kitts.

 

 

 

Both governments share a 40-year strong diplomatic relationship with Taiwan being the first country to establish a diplomatic relationship with SKN following our declaration of independence in 1983.
