The Cabinet Secretariat within the Federal Government has advised the public on arrangements to ensure the seamless functioning of the Government, during the medical absence of Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew.

Prime Minister Drew is currently receiving specialized medical observation and care abroad, out of an abundance of caution and on the advice of his treating physicians. He remains in stable condition, and the Government is heartened by the continued messages of support and prayer from citizens, residents, and regional and international partners.

The following arrangements are now in effect: Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, will serve as Acting Prime Minister and he will assume the responsibilities for the Ministries of Finance, Health, and Human Resource Management and Social Security, in addition to his existing duties.

Attorney General, the Hon. Garth Wilkin will assume responsibilities for National Security, Citizenship and Immigration.
