The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is investigating the first murder incident for the decade here in the federation.

Dead is Senior Men’s Team and Newtown United football player 28 year old Kennedy “K” Isles of Sand Down Road, St. Kitts.

The incident took place on Friday 24th January in Newtown, Basseterre, St. Kitts at about 9pm.

Isles is reported to have been shot multiple times about the body outside his home by and armed assailant where he succumbed to his injures.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and anyone having information relating this incident is urged to contact their nearest police station or the crime hotline at 707.

Details surrounding the incident are sketchy but the VONNEWSLINE will bring more on this story as it develops.

This comes weeks following a report in December 2019 by Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis and Minister of National Security Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris, that homicides in St. Kitts and Nevis have fallen by 48 percent amid an overall drop in crime of 27 percent.

This murder also comes two weeks after the Federation recorded its first road fatality, with the death of 42 year old Melissa Lawrence of New Castle, Nevis who on January 10th succumbed to her injuries following a singular vehicular accident on January 1st 2020 in the Cotton Ground area.
