Female cruise passenger drowns at Friars Bay: 2nd drowning incident for 2026

Lawmen have confirmed to the VONNEWSLINE that a woman drowned on Friday Jan. 30th, in St. Kitts.

 

A police spokesperson said: “a 68-year-old female passenger from a cruise vessel encountered difficulty in the sea at Friars Bay and passed away.”

 

She was taken to the JNF General Hospital and an autopsy will be performed. More details to follow.

 

This is the 2nd drowning incident for 2026 and the 2nd for the month of January. It also comes exactly four (4) weeks after the death of Jahi Henry, who drowned at Herbert’s Beach, Nevis, on Jan. 2nd.
