First Aid CPR Training for Persons with Disabilities, Parents and Caregivers

The Department of Disability Services, in St. Kitts, is hosting two workshops, geared at certifying persons in administering First Aid, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The first training session set for Saturday, February 22nd will cater for the parents, and caregivers of persons with disabilities, while the second training, on Saturday March 1st, will facilitate training for persons with disabilities. The workshop is free of cost to participants, running from 9a.m. to 3p.m., at the East Basseterre (Newtown) Community Centre.

Coordinator for Disability Services, Mrs. Marecia Browne, outlined the significance of the training. She stated: “Since many persons with disabilities and caregivers face specific risks, that require specialized support, it is important for many to prepare for unexpected life-saving situations.”

Although the workshop is at maximum capacity, persons are still encouraged to contact the department at 665 3984, so they may be contacted for any future First Aid Training and CPR workshops.
