First Interscholastic Spelling Bee to be held since Covid 19 Pandemic began and Inaugural Inter High School Quiz to be held

Since the Covid 19 pandemic, activities on a whole, were halted, or adjusted to follow certain rules etc. But with the WHO announcing that the virus is no longer a global threat, activities across Nevis in particular, can once again continue as it was before Covid-19.

 

 

 

This, as the Interscholastic Spelling Bee at both the primary and secondary school level will take place, as the third term of the academic year continues.

 

 

 

The Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, May 12th, at the Michael Herald Sutton Auditorium, NEPAC. The primary school segment will begin at 9am while the secondary school level is scheduled to start at 1pm.

 

 

 

Making an appeal to the general public to show support for the initiative and the participating students, was Principal Education Officer at the Ministry of Education, Ms. Zahnela Claxton:

Meanwhile,

 

 

The island will also see the execution of the first Inter High School Health Quiz. The new initiative will be organized by the Nevis Health Promotion Unit and Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Republic Bank.

 

 

 

The quiz will be held on Friday, May 19th, 2023 at the Nevis Performing Arts Center at 6pm. There is no admission fee.

 

 

 

Competing in the event will be the three secondary schools on the island namely: the Charlestown Secondary School (CSS), Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) and Nevis International Secondary School (NISS).
