First National Hero of SKN to be featured on New EC 50 Dollar Note

The Late Right Excellent Sir Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw, Former Chief Minister, First Premier of the Associated State of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla and St. Kitts and Nevis’ First National Hero, will be featured on the newly unveiled EC Fifty Dollar Note.

 

The announcement took place during the Ceremony to mark the Change in Chairmanship of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Monetary Council, where replicas of the newly redesigned Eastern Caribbean Dollar Notes featuring regional icons, were revealed.

 

Governor of the ECCB, is Mr. Timothy Antoine.

 

 

Alongside Sir Bradshaw, former Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (1989–2015), Sir K. Dwight Venner, is featured on the 50 dollar note.

 

Figures from each island in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union is featured on the new money. The $100 note features Nobel laureate Sir William Arthur Lewis and Sir John George Melvin Compton, the $20 note honors Sir Vere Cornwall Bird Sr. and Dame Mary Eugenia Charles, the $10 note recognizes William Henry Bramble and James Ronald Webster, and the $5 note features Robert Milton Cato and Olympic champion Sir Kirani James.

 

The regional figures replace the image of the late Queen Elizabeth II on the EC currency. The notes are expected begin circulating in late 2027 beginning with 100 dollar note.
