Four day work week “being considered”

Following the announcement of a recommendation to present to the Federal Cabinet about a policy to increase the minimum wage in St. Kitts and Nevis (SKN), the Federal Minister of Labour spoke of another proposal pertaining to the number of days, in which a person works.

The Hon. Marsha Henderson recently mentioned a “four day work week” that the Policy and Labour Relations Unit (PLU) within the Department of Labour, is looking at:

Reports from the BBC have indicated that for many workers, when the four-day-week was tested in the UK, it translated to better health, about 40% of respondents said they experienced less work-related stress and 71% reported lower levels of burnout.

However, this may result in longer work hours. Should it be implemented in SKN, will workers receive the same full salary?
