Team Four Seasons Resort is the winner of this past weekend’s Mango Festival Cooking Competition.
The cooking competition was held on the final day of the Mango festivities (Sunday, July 3rd, 2022) dubbed “For the Love of Mangoes” at the Malcom Guishard Recreational Park.
The competitors featured a pair of chefs from the Four Seasons Resort Nevis and a pair of chefs from Vibes Beach Bar on Di Strip in St. Kitts.
Round one lasted twenty minutes where the chefs were free to cook their choice of dish, while round two, dubbed the mystery basket round, lasted 45 minutes where the chefs were tasked to create a dish based on the ingredients in the mystery baskets.
The mystery ingredients were okra, ripe mangoes, pumpkin seeds, cornmeal flour, seasoned peppers and green banana.
The Four Seasons Resort team was the overall winner amassing 415 points in round 1 and 431 points in the second round with a grand total of 846 points overall.
Team Vibes Beach Bar amassed 414 points in the first round and 388 points in the second round with a total of 802 points overall.
Each participant received a stove top and four gas cylinders. However, the winner received a trophy compliments of Carib Brewery and two cellular phones from Digicel.
