The Ministry of Health (Nevis) previously announced the availability of free mammogram services at the Alexandra Hospital which will run until December 31st, 2023.
In a previous announcement, women especially over the age of 40 were encouraged to take advantage of the service for the remainder of the year with a referral from their doctor. After reconsideration, influenced by a number of views from the public and the charge that comes with gaining a referral, the ministry has made the referral service available at the public health centres.
Making the announcement was Premier of Nevis, Hon Mark Brantley:
