St. Kitts & Nevis joined the rest of the world in recognizing “Girls in ICT Day 2023” on Thursday April 27th. ICT is the field of Information and Communication Technology.

According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the initiative was created in an effort to inspire and encourage girls to pursue a future in fields such as science, engineering, technology, mathematics and bridging the gender digital divide.

Here in St. Kitts and Nevis, the day was observed and celebrated by the Ministry of Communications with the aid of the ITU by hosting a development forum for female students across St. Kitts. Students were exposed to different aspects in ICT including graphics design, robotics and web design.

The theme for this year’s Girls in ICT Day is “Digital Skills for Life”.
