The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has confirmed that no authorization has been granted for an increase in the price of basic bread, commonly known as ‘dollar bread’.

Authorities have instructed all bakeries and related businesses to maintain current prices and warned that no changes should be made without prior consultation and approval from the National Cost-of-Living Task Force.

The statement aims to reassure the public amid concerns about possible food price increases.

Government officials emphasized that they are actively monitoring the situation to protect consumers from unjustified cost hikes and to ensure stability in essential food items.

Any proposed adjustments to pricing must go through proper regulatory channels before implementation.

The announcement reinforces the government’s commitment to safeguarding affordability and preventing sudden increases in staple good that could affect households across the country.

Officials reiterated their commitment to cost-of-living stability and consumer protection across Saint Kitts and Nevis moving forward for all citizens and residents in the Federation.
