The Government House has issued a Statement on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the II. The Statement reads in part:
“His Excellency the Governor-General Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton, GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, .LLD has been officially advised of the passing of the Queen.
The Governor-General has expressed great sadness at her passing. His Excellency the Governor-General has also advised the Honourable Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew of the death of the Sovereign and Head of The Commonwealth.
Acting in accordance with established protocol all flags in the Federation will fly at half-mast until the day after the Funeral. Her son, the Heir to the Throne, His Royal Highness Prince Charles has been proclaimed as King.

In related news, other government departments such as the Nevis Tourism Authority has issued a Statement which says:
The Nevis Tourism Authority is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II and we share our sincere condolences to The Royal Family.
Her Majesty the Queen shared some valuable time on the island of Nevis as the Head of the Commonwealth and we would like to thank her for her life-long support and dedication. Our thoughts are with The Royal Family at this very difficult time.
