Gov’t will “seek to shield its people” from impacts of Middle East War, SKN’s PM says

SKN’s Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew. The Iran war began on Feb. 28th when the United States and Israel launched surprise airstrikes on multiple sites and cities across Iran, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and numerous other Iranian officials.
Since then, Iran has responded by launching attacks on Israel and US-allied states in the Gulf. The Strait of Hormuz; the vital waterway for transporting oil, has been effectively blocked by Iran since the war began and this has caused oil prices to increase. Eventually, that cost will trickle down to the normal consumer.
But what measures will the Government put in place to cushion the impact, potentially for vulnerable households and businesses? In response to a journalist on Mar. 10th, PM Drew said the Government will protect its people.
