Minister of Government in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), Spencer Brand, has lent his voice on the recent stabbing incident which involved a pregnant lady.

Police said on Sunday Feb. 9^th Saskia Maynard of Hanley’s Road, sustained a number of non-life threatening stab wounds to the front of her body and abdomen.

Ms. Maynard was attacked by a masked assailant. Then on Monday Feb. 10^th, Ms. Maynard, who was seven months pregnant at the time, underwent emergency surgery to deliver the baby. The surgery was successful. The mother and child are reported to be in a stable condition at the Alexandra Hospital. Currently, no one is in custody for the crime.
