Hanley’s Road Stabbing incident: “This is not who we are”, says Minister Brand
Minister of Government in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA), Spencer Brand, has lent his voice on the recent stabbing incident which involved a pregnant lady.
Police said on Sunday Feb. 9th Saskia Maynard of Hanley’s Road, sustained a number of non-life threatening stab wounds to the front of her body and abdomen.
Ms. Maynard was attacked by a masked assailant. Then on Monday Feb. 10th, Ms. Maynard, who was seven months pregnant at the time, underwent emergency surgery to deliver the baby. The surgery was successful. The mother and child are reported to be in a stable condition at the Alexandra Hospital. Currently, no one is in custody for the crime.
