St. Kitts & Nevis joined the rest of the world in observing International Firefighters’ Day (IFFD) 2026.

This, as Officers of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services paraded through the streets of Basseterre on Tuesday May 5^th, forming part of activities in observance of International Firefighters’ Day 2026.

This was in an effort to raise public awareness and highlight a week of activities.

IFFD, observed each year on May 4^th, is a time where the world’s community can recognize and honour the sacrifices that firefighters make to ensure that their communities and environment are as safe as possible.
