St. Kitts and Nevis will continue its Independence 43 celebrations on Friday, September 25^th, with two major events highlighting the nation’s youth, culture and uniformed services.

The day begins with the Independence Youth March/Rally from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Warner Park in Basseterre. Students from St. Kitts and Nevis are expected to participate in fellowship, educational activities and performances, with entertainment from Dejour, Rucas HE and the Kollision Band. The event will be hosted by Sweet Sister Sensia and Pino.

Later that day, attention will shift to Bay Road at 5:00 p.m. for the Independence Drill Competition, organized by the Department of Creative Economy. Participants will include SCASPA, cadets, police, and fire and rescue personnel, showcasing discipline, precision and teamwork.

The Drill Competition will be streamed live on the St. Kitts-Nevis Independence YouTube and Facebook pages. The celebrations form part of Independence 43, commemorating the federation’s independence on September 19^th, 1983, under the theme: “One People, One Vision, Endless Possibility.”

Also, the final National Colours Day initiative for this year’s Independence will be this Friday (September 25^th) with the colour black representing our nation’s African heritage.
