Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Task Force officially launched
On Thursday February 6th 2025, the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Task Force was officially launched. This task force was formed to improve air quality standards and safeguard public health in the federation.
The key objectives of the group are:
Creating a preliminary National Indoor Air Quality Policy to improve current regulations (projected to be completed mid 2025)
Developing standards for air quality monitoring and compliance
Public education campaigns
Recommendations of sustainable building practices that promotes clean air and environment quality
Establishment of clear guidelines for air quality standards in workplaces and residences.
Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, asserted, “The air we breathe indoors is just as important as the air we breathe outdoors. Poor indoor air quality is a silent but serious threat to health, productivity, and overall well-being.”
He further stated, “This Task Force represents a proactive and decisive effort to ensure that all citizens and residents—whether in schools, workplaces, or homes—have access to clean and safe air.”
