Nevis joined the world in celebrating International Day of the Girl Child on October 11th, 2024. It is an international observance that was declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of Girls and the International Day of the Girl. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl Child.
Here on Nevis, Students and members of Staff were seen wearing pink shirts or other pink garments in both primary and secondary schools to show their participation in the celebration.

Meanwhile, Minister of Gender Affairs, the Hon. Jahnel Nisbett congratulated and awarded 14 girls from the various primary and secondary schools on Nevis.
